A lot of “we cook – you eat” home delivery services have been popping up, like there was an offer for someone starting a food startup, filling a gap between regular delivery, like Seamless and “we delivery – you cook” services like Blue Apron. You want a “home cooked meal”, but you just don’t have the time, the energy or the kitchen to do it. Services like Good Meal, but also SF-stemming Munchery.
Munchery, now celebrating it’s 5th year running, does though serve a bigger purpose, besides providing food wrapped in pretty boxes for those who “have”. Every time you order a meal, they donate one to someone who “hasn’t”, by providing food for a local food bank. Talk about a win-win.
And yes, it might be 5 years old, but still deserves a shout out – may others follow.
